This program focuses on building proper fundamentals for shooting and dribbling — the two biggest areas for young players to master. Three sessions per week, 40-50 minutes each.

Weekly Breakdown
Weeks 1–2
Foundation Phase
Build the base. Focus on stance, grip, and basic ball handling. No shortcuts — great players master the basics first.
- BEEF shooting method (Balance, Eyes, Elbow, Follow-through)
- Stationary dribbling — both hands equally
- Form shooting from 3–5 feet
- Stationary crossover drills
Weeks 3–4
Development Phase
Add movement and extend range. You should see real improvement in confidence.
- Shooting off the catch (triple threat position)
- Dribbling while walking, then jogging
- Layup technique from both sides
- Figure-8 ball handling drills
Weeks 5–6
Skill Building Phase
Increase speed and extend shooting range. Introduce game-like scenarios.
- Shooting off the dribble (1–2 dribbles)
- Full-speed dribbling + direction changes
- Catch-and-shoot from elbow positions
- Defensive pressure dribbling drills
Weeks 7–8
Game Application Phase
Put it all together. Game-speed repetitions that translate directly to the court.
- Shooting off screens and curls
- Full-court dribbling at game speed
- 1-on-1 moves: crossover into pull-up
- Competitive shooting games & challenges

Supporting Your Athlete
- Keep sessions fun — avoid heavy criticism
- Praise effort, not just results
- Use an age-appropriate ball (size 5 for under 12)
- Lower the hoop to 8ft if possible for shooting
- Rest days are part of training — don't skip them
